Girls Exploring Technology in 198 Companies – weba as a Proud Host
"The industry urgently needs qualified professionals, and we see great potential in young women. It is our goal to inspire girls to pursue technical careers and to showcase the many opportunities available in our field," explains a company spokesperson.
Hands-on Technology – Practical Insights
During their visit to weba, the participants got a firsthand look at how cutting-edge tools for the automotive industry are developed. Whether in CAD design, manufacturing, or innovative hot-forming technologies, the girls were able to go behind the scenes and engage in practical tasks themselves.
More Women in Technical Professions – A Key Goal
The success of Girls’ Day is already evident in the numbers: The percentage of women in technical apprenticeships has been steadily increasing. While in 2002, only 100 girls began an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, automotive, or metalworking, by 2016, this number had grown to 416. Nevertheless, there is still much to be done to break down outdated stereotypes and encourage more girls to pursue careers in technology.
Shaping the Future – weba’s Commitment to Youth Development
At weba, fostering young talent is a top priority. In addition to Girls’ Day, the company regularly offers internships, trial workdays, and apprenticeships in various technical fields.
