Even as a child, Alex was fascinated by technology – no surprise, given that his father also worked in a technical field. It quickly became clear to him: "I want to do something with drawing, technology, and design." This early passion grew over time and was further strengthened during his studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Steyr. He was particularly inspired by 2D and 3D design – the ability to turn ideas into something visible and tangible. "That's when I realized how much fun it really is," he recalls. After completing his military service, he started his career at weba in 2008 as a design engineer – full of energy and motivation.
Growth Through Responsibility
Mission Olomouc
In 2019, an exciting opportunity came along: Alex was sent to Olomouc for three-quarters of a year to oversee a major customer project in the design department. But that wasn’t all – he was also tasked with standardizing and improving cross-site workflows. And he delivered. With an open mind and a strong sense for people and processes.
A Leader With Vision
Later that same year, Alex took on the interim leadership of the design department in Olomouc. Step by step, he built a strong team and trained his own successor, with the clear goal of establishing long-term structures.
When the COVID-19 lockdown hit in 2020, Alex had to return to Steyr – but he remained responsible for the team in the Czech Republic even after his return. Shortly afterward, he took the next step in his career: becoming the cross-site Head of Engineering for Steyr and Olomouc – a role that perfectly combines his technical expertise and organizational talent.

What Drives Alexander
Alex is not someone who simply goes through the motions. He loves working closely with other departments – planning, project management, production. Finding solutions together and setting up projects so that they are technically sound and stay on schedule is what truly motivates him. If the day starts with a team meeting where everyone knows exactly what to do afterward – that's a perfect day for him.
At weba, Alex especially values the open, respectful atmosphere – from apprentices to top management. He also appreciates the freedom to work independently and manage his own time. “As long as you meet your deadlines, nobody puts obstacles in your way at weba,” he says.
Proud Moments & Lasting Memories
There are many memories that Alex associates with weba – but two stand out for him in particular.
The first goes back quite a while: back then, he was still a young design engineer at the very beginning of his career when he had the opportunity to travel to a customer in Spain to carry out a design approval on-site. For him, this was a real milestone. "I hadn't been with the company for long and was already trusted with such an important task. That's when I realized: here, trust isn't just talked about – it's truly lived."
This experience had a lasting impact on him because it showed him that he could take on responsibility and that people believed in him.

A few years later came the next highlight: the major expansion of the production plant in Olomouc – and the official opening ceremony in 2017. Alex was there when the new halls, state-of-the-art equipment, and automated processes were presented to the public for the first time. "The scale, the modern design, the team spirit – it was truly impressive. That’s when I really felt: I’m part of something big that’s growing and evolving."

Advice fro the Next Generation
When asked what advice he would give to young people, Alex doesn't hesitate for a second: "Set yourself ambitious goals – and stick to them. Even when it gets uncomfortable. Stepping out of your comfort zone is often exactly what helps you grow."
Distant Lands & the Perfect Swing
When he's not deep into technical plans, Alex loves to explore the world. Hong Kong, Japan, and many other countries have fascinated him – not just because of the places themselves, but also because of the cultures, the people, and the chance to grow personally. Recently, he also rediscovered his passion for golf – with the same dedication and focus he brings to his projects.
